Begin with the visit model
PlushCare describes online clinician visits for ED, with prescriptions sent to a local pharmacy when the doctor considers treatment appropriate. Its page discusses sildenafil and other ED medicines and says it does not prescribe Trimix or testosterone through this service. A visit is therefore an assessment, not a guarantee of a requested medicine. [PlushCare ED service]
This arrangement differs from an offer organized around a shipped pack of tablets. Ask which pharmacy will receive an eligible prescription, whether it has the product available and how medication questions will be handled after the appointment.
Put three costs on the page
The reviewed page advertises a $19.99 monthly membership and a $129 initial visit for patients paying without insurance. For in-network insurance it describes variable visit costs, with many patients paying $30 or less. That is the provider's characterization, not a determination of your benefits or a guaranteed copay.
Medication is a separate expense. The medicine-price examples on the page do not establish what your selected pharmacy, quantity and insurance arrangement will charge. Request the membership terms, visit total and pharmacy price separately. Clarify whether membership is required for the chosen booking and how future membership charges are stopped.
Keep the assessment and pharmacy connected
NIDDK describes ED diagnosis as potentially involving examination or tests as well as history. Ask how any additional evaluation will be arranged and how results return to the treating clinician. Do not assume that completing a video visit resolves every possible cause of symptoms. [NIDDK]
Once medicine is dispensed, follow the supplied instructions and contact the clinician about inadequate response or side effects. The pharmacist can clarify the product and label. Our prescription notes and pharmacy checks help prepare those questions. This publication has not booked a PlushCare visit, verified insurance coverage or tested treatment outcomes. The figures above are public service fees, not an all-inclusive ED treatment price. [MedlinePlus] [FDA]
